Up in limbo

Well it's been an interesting past few days at work. A major announcement was made on Wednesday, advising us that a major restructure will be occurring. It is likely that this well commence within this financial year and it will be fully implemented by the end of the calendar year.

I don't know what it means for me yet as the final details have not been made available. It's likely that they haven't even worked out the finer details. Mood has been so-so at work, people are more concerned about ascertaining what it means for them - the information that we don't know.

Anyways, today is a beautiful day and we are at Currum Beach (Pattersons Lake). The boys have the jest-skis out and there are many jet-skis and boats out, the water police too pulling iver whoever they can. The water is beautiful and refreshing. I have been getting my tan on also!

I am wearing my Jets bikinis that I recently purchased.

Some outfits of the day from last week.

In the above photo, I'm wearing a jersey maxi dress that I picked up in Bali, Tony Bianco low heel wedges and my Zimmermann belt.

I'm wearing a SABA dress, Cotton On Cardi and Tony Bianco bow wedges.

Until next time, hope you have a fabulous weekend!

The Travel Show

I had yet another jam packed weekend.

On Friday night T and I went to Squires Loft on Toorak Rd, South Yarra for dinner. Great food! Highly recommended if you like steak as the Squires Loft is a steak house. The pork ribs are divine!

On Saturday, T and I went to the travel show to get some ideas about where we could go this year. I wanted some place nice, warm and tropical. I had ideas for Mexico, specifically Cabo San Lucas and Hawaii. T advised at the show that he wasn't keen on Hawaii and would be up for Mexico and some place else.

Then, at the show I saw a brochure of what appeared to be paradise. I know people say that to them Thailand and Bali are paradise but sorry to say, they have nothing on Tahiti, specifically Bora Bora.

The above photos are of the St Regis Resort in Bora Bora. Yesterday I had a quick look at prices and let me tell you, this sort of beauty ain't cheap!

One of the above overwater bungalows will set one back over $1600 - per night!

So I'm in the early stages of working on T. I'm taking a delicate approach as his car was broken into, and he is dropping significant coin right now to make our place Fort Knox. That's ok as I do have patience!

After the travel show, T and I had lunch at Crown's Pub and following lunch, we saw Safe House the movie with Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds.

On Sunday I did my photography course down at St Kilda beach. I picked up a few tips and tricks - ones I could use on my holiday!

To finish today's post today's outfit of the day:

I'm wearing a Forever New top, Cue pants and red furry Alex Alex shoes.

Here is a close up of the shoe, so you can see the texture of it.

Until next time...

We got robbed!!!!

As the title states, we got robbed this morning, well to be specific T did.

T parks his ute and trailer in the driveway as the whole lot won't fit in the garage. T went outside to leave and the tray of his ute was open (meaning it was upright). They broke into tray of T's ute and the scum stole one of his drop saws (worth about $1300) and one of his cordless drills with the battery attached (worth about $600). They didn't take anything else like the power leads, sockets and other bits and bob in his tray. They didn't break into his trailer, unsure if they tried or not. To top it off, they slashed his tire.

T thinks it was done by a tradie, most likely an apprentice. He is gutted as the tradie rule of never pinching a mans tools, was broken.

So of course I phoned the police to report it, T had to change his tire and we were both shocked. I feel so violated right now. Someone came onto MY property and stole from ME. I'm shocked as I live in a not so cheap area, it's quiet - no hoons, no trouble.

I have wanted a big electronic gate out the front of the house whilst I was building. Unfortunately due to going a bit over budget with the build, the gate went on my 'I will do that later on list'.

I saw the neighbour as I left for work and told him. He said that he was woken up to the jiggling of keys at 5:00-5:30am and thought it was T getting ready for work. I feel for T, he will have to go to the police station to make a statement and endure the pain of dealing with the insurance.

Anyways, my outfit of the day as next item of business. I'm wearing SABA wool pants, Wayne Cooper top, Intimo cardi, Dolce & Gabbana scarf and Tony Bianco flats.

OOTD meets Revenge

Wow it's certainly been awhile. I had a very busy weekend entertaining! T and I spent the weekend hosting and boy oh boy, it left us both exhausted.

I hope everyone had a lovely Valentines Day. T and I cooked a fabulous meal together and we also got some fantastic wine to go with it. T and I agreed to no gifts this year as I'm up for a big holiday and would prefer we splashed our cash on that.

I have been crazy busy at work, many of my meetings have been off site and have been unfortunate to have had a few crisis to deal with this week.

Anyhow, I have another busy weekend planned. I am dragging T to the Travel Expo this weekend - I have been looking at Mexico and Hawaii as potential travel destinations. On Sunday I am participating in a photography course in St Kilda. The course was a Christmas gift from my sister-in-law (T's sister).

I got home from work about five minutes to six and found the Australia Post receipt on my front door indicating my package can be collected at the post office. My nearest post office is one of those news agency/post office and it's around the corner, about a five minute walk. I quickly jumped in the car and got there before they shut at 6pm.
The package was my Jets order. All items brand new in original packaging with tags. T liked the bandeau bikini top the most and the side tie bikini bottoms from the other set second best (cheeky man)!

Has anyone watched the new show on the telly called Revenge? T and I have been watching about two episodes each night and it's brilliant! Get onto it.

I have a few outfits of the day to post.

In this photo in wearing a Cotton On top, Paige Denim jeans and Tony Bianco flats.

In this photo, I'm wearing a Portmans top, Calvin Klein pants and Tony Bianco wedges.

I'm wearing a Forever 21 top purchased in Vegas, Country Road shorts and Mollini wedges.

Today I'm wearing a Cue dress with my Tony Bianco wedges. Apologies for the awkward looking second photo. It was the best that I could do to show the back detail.

Until next time...

OPI's My Private Jet

Last night I saw Mandy for my regular nail appointment. There was a bottle of polish that instantly attracted my eye on the display, as soon as I sat down. Prior to my appointment I decided that I was going to go a light summery colour, the light polish would accentuate my tan. Hence my surprise when I was instantly attracted to a dark polish.

My Private Jet has a charcoal base with tiny specks of white glitter and it works so well together.

I generally like to match my toes to my nails and I was tossing up if I should purchase My Private Jet.
I was in luck as Mandy had one on the shelf for sale. I pay for my service once the Gels are done and prior to the polish application. I was unsure if I would love My Private Jet, so Mandy offered to take it off the shelf and put it aside for me, for a couple of days so I can decide if I really do want it. As soon as the second coat was applied, I was sold and I'm planning on purchasing it tonight.

The photos aren't the best. They were taken when I got home last night, at the park whilst walking the dogs. It was about 8:30pm. Would have been better if pictures were taken in the bright light.

My outfit for today.

Hi There by Karen Walker top, Calvin Klein pants, Country Road skinny belt, Cotton On cardigan and Tony Bianco peep toe wedges (the ones with the bow).

I am planning on tidying up this bedroom on the weekend. I know that there are far too many boxes in there. The recyclables are being collected next week so I plan on getting it in the bins for the collection!

The final verdict on eyelash extensions

Last month I blogged about my first eyelash extension experience. The extensions certainly made my eyes pop once I had done my make-up.
Following the procedure, I was unsure if I liked having eyelash extensions. I was advised that refills would be due in three weeks time (this Saturday) as the extensions would fall out with my natural eyelashes and by then, it would look patchy.
I decided that I would give it a go, get the refills done and make the call if they are for me or not.
I realized that I can't do it and that eyelash extensions are not for me. How did i come to that conclusion you may wonder, well let me explain. On a handful of occasions I experienced the most intense pain in my eyes. I'm talking about the type of pain you get when you have something in your eye. On those occasions, my eyes would start watering, naturally what your eye would do. I would rub my eyes hoping the pain and watering would stop. Nope, no chance. My eye would continue to leak. Upon closer inspection in the ladies room or in my bathroom at home, I would see that the eyelash is kinda hanging off my natural eyelash and would come inwards, into my eye. I couldn't pull it out, trust me I had my tweezers in one hand trying. It was too painful. Some how I would bend the eyelash back outwards, mind you the eyelash still looked like it was hanging off. Two things I was grateful for at the time. 1) I wasn't wearing mascara as
recommended, luckily as I would of been sporting that panda look and 2) I wasn't in any meetings at the time. It would be incredibly embarrassing if I were to chair a meeting AND deal with a leaky eye.
Today's outfit.

Portmans silk dress, Zimmermanm leather belt, Cotton On three quarter leggings and Tony Bianco peep toe wedges.
Today's outfit is pretty safe and I usually like to wear predominantly black outfits.

Update on shoe storage

In a previous blog post, I explained and posted a picture on how I store my shoes. The below picture shows you how I had been storing them for the past 18 months.

I had them sorted in shoe type and then stacked the boxes of that shoe type on top of one another. My system did the job, but I felt that it looked messy and disorganized.

Last night, T took it upon himself to put together the Billy Bookcases we purchased about six months ago. Once T put it together, I had other ideas apart from book storage.

I like the way I have set up the shelves. Each row can comfortably fit 4x4. At this stage, there is still room for me to fit a few books on the second shelf. The Billy Bookshelf was purchased at Ikea and I think I paid $89 per bookshelf. At $89, I think it's more than reasonable for shoe storage. Now I need to purchase two more bookshelves for my books!

My outfit for today is:
Cue top with a skin colour singlet worn underneath purchased from Forever 21 in LA, wool dress pants made by a tailor in Bali (cut and style copied off an old pair of SABA pants) and Tony Bianco nude coloured peep toe wedges.

With the tailored wool pants, I purchased the material at a fabric store in Bali called Alta Moda. It is a tri-level store with some of the most stunning fabric. As soon as you step into the store, you have an attendant help you with what you need.
All up, I had 5 pairs of pants made in 100% pure wool for AUD$250. I would so recommend doing this if you are in Bali.

Weekend in Rye

Apologies all for not posting over the weekend. T and I went to my beach house for the weekend and left for Rye on Friday night and returned late last night.

It was beautiful of T to have come with me as he came to the beach with my family and I on Saturday. Anybody who knows T would understand how huge that is for him. You see T works outside in the sun, every day. When you hear on the news that the weather is forecasted to reach a top of 32 degrees Celsius, that's 32 in the shade that they are forecasting. As he works in the open without shade, I am informed thanks to his whizz banger weather station thingy that on a 32 degrees day, it's at least, 38 degrees if not more. The poor guy lathers himself with sunscreen but he still gets burnt. What he exposes is also rather tanned. It's odd looking at him with no top on with boxers as his feet are white due to his boots, his thighs are white because of his shorts and his torso is white too due to his high vis tops. Everything else is black!

So whilst T came to the beach, he parked himself firmly under the umbrella and read a book. He didn't even go for a swim - as I pointed out, he couldn't think of anything worse than being in the sun, on his day off. He came to the beach with me, out of love!

On Saturday evening T and I took the dogs for a long walk to the foreshore and down to near Rosebud beach and back. Alex ran straight into the water for a swim as soon as we got to the beach. Rain was a little more apprehensive however, she too is getting used to the beach and had a few swims.

We walked back to the Rye foreshore and stopped for Gelato. There's a few places there and as I haven't been for a while, we chose the place with the biggest line - usually a good indicator of good gelato. My god, it was better than good, it was divine. Make sure you hit up Volcano Gelato if you are down that way.

The weather was not as nice yesterday and I think T was secretly pleased that he didn't have to endure another day at the beach.

Both T and I had poor reception whilst there so we weren't on our iPhone's and iPad a great deal. We watched a few movies whilst up there. The Shelter and The Decoy Bride. I fell asleep during The Shelter but I enjoyed The Decoy Bride.

To finish off, I have included a few outfit pics below.

The pic above is today's outfit. I'm wearing a Country Road top, Cue pants, Whitchery blazer (not in pic) and my new Tony Bianco flats.

The above photo was the outfit I wore last Friday. I'm wearing a Bettina Liano top, Cotton On skirt and Whittner sandals.

Oh and I have one more pic. Yep - T needed to swing past a friends place last night on the way home in Berwick. We detoured to get some of the below for our morning tea.

Yep - Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Mmmm, mmmm, mmmmn!

Shopping Ban

It's that time of year when I impose a shopping ban on myself. It always occurs when T and I discuss our next holiday. OK I lie, it always occurs when I bust T's chops about where we are going to go. So every year after we have the holiday discussion I impose a shopping ban on myself so I can save for the trip. It does all end well as I usually make up for my shopping ban by shopping up a storm where ever we go.

My gorgeous doggies were treated to some pampering today, they were groomed. This time of year, they get really hot and will sleep on the floorboards in the hallway. The grooming might be considered expensive ($140 for two dogs, every three months) - I much prefer to pay this than have pooches that shed. I hate cleaning my house at the best of times as it's rather big, I couldn't think of anything worse than sweeping and vacuuming dog hair on a daily basis.

Alex following his hair cut.

Rain following her hair cut.

Yesterday I wore the above outfit to work. The top I'm wearing was purchased from Myer - I think it's a Tokito brand, Jeans by Paige Premium Denim, my shoes are from Mimco and my leather jacket is by Mike and Chris.

Today was quite warm again so I whipped out my Zimmermann silk maxi dress. The Zimmermann dress was purchased at full drive, so I'm trying to get some decent wears out if it this summer.

Love the dress, but not a good dress to pack in the suitcase to take on travels. The fabric creases easily and as you can see the garment steamer in the background it's not something that can be packed in the suitcase.

Jewelry Storage

Following on from some previous blog posts on storage, I was prompted to blog about my jewelry storage when I put my new CC Skye bracelet away.

It's has five drawer compartments and more storage under the lid.

The first drawer has these little individualized compartments and I store my rings and some earrings here.

I store my bracelets in the second drawer with the longer separators.

The third drawer has wider separators so I store some of my thicker bracelets, cuffs and a few necklaces here.

The fourth drawer doesn't have separators so I store my necklaces here.

The fifth drawer also doesn't have separators so I store more necklaces here.

In a previous blog post, I purchased the Cloud 9 curling wand and was given a Wella Thermal Protector for free.

I used this yesterday morning and I don't like it. For me, it made my hair greasy and that meant that I had to was it again today (I wash every second day).

Today I'm wearing black Pilgrim pants, silk top by 7 for all man kind (purchased in NYC), Witchery blazer and Mimco heels.

Swimwear shopping

I had a great weekend chilling out at the beach house with my family and it's nice to catch up with them over good weather and food, and I returned home late last night.

T and I spent the weekend apart, he traveled into a country town to be taught some tricks of the trade in machining on the Saturday and on Saturday night, he and two of his other friends rode their motorbikes to his Phillip Island beach house for the night. T returned home at 2pm yesterday and had the cleaned the house by the time I got home.

This morning on my way to work, I was going to do a quick blog post outlining my weekend and my outfit of the day. Unfortunately, I got a bit sidetracked by an email I received. JETS swimwear sale. Say what?! Perfect, I haven't purchased new swimwear in, like, a year and a half. I tried this summer, I really did. I usually love Seafolly but I wasn't loving anything from their range this summer. The Seafolly pieces that I did like, were the exact same style and cut as the ones I had, just different colour. So I gave up...until now.

By the time I got to work, I purchased two pairs of JETS bikinis. The first set is the Coastline wide band tie black halter with ruffles in the indigo and white colour. The RRP is $79.95 and I picked the top up for the sale price of $35.99.

JETS Coastline Ruffle top

The matching bottoms are the Coastline ruffle tie side bikini pant in the indigo and white. RRP is $69.95 and the sale price is $31.50.

JETS Coastline ruffle bottoms

I also picked up the Riveria Chevron striped Bandeau with piping in Maritime. The RRP is $119.00 and purchased at the sale price of $53.50.

JETS Riveria Chevron Bandeau

The Riveria stripe one tie side bottoms in Maritime have a RRP of $74.95 and they were purchased at the sale price of $33.70.

JETS Riveria bottoms

Whilst we are on the topic of sales, I headed out onto Smith Street to pick up some lunch this afternoon and I did a double take as I was walking past one of the jewelers. They too had a sale and the CC Skye pieces that they had on display caught my eye. I couldn't help myself....

CC Skye

CC Skye Double Wrap Woven Bracelet

CC Skye Bronze Double Wrap Woven Bracelet

The bracelet was on sale, reduced from $350 to $99. I couldn't NOT buy it. It's gorgeous and the reduction was over 70% off. Well, that's what I keep telling myself to make me feel better about spending the cashola.

Today I am wearing a pencil skirt from Cue, aboutthislabel top and my new Tony Bianco wedges.
